Skoda's need for speed!
Skoda Motorsport will celebrate its 110th anniversary this year. As part of the celebrations Skoda UK has announced that it will be an official partner to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June. The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the largest motoring garden party in the world. The unique summer weekend combines cars, stars and motor sport ‘royalty’, creating the largest car culture event in the world. The event is held in the grounds of Goodwood House near Chichester in West Sussex.
To celebrate its rally successes across the globe, Skoda is working closely with the Goodwood Estate to assist with the development of the chalk loose-surfaced rally stage, an increasingly popular part of the Festival.
At the 2011 event, the rally stage will officially be called the 'Goodwood Forest Rally Stage presented by Skoda'. The stage will feature better spectator facilities in the rally paddock and special stage viewing, better opportunities to see the cars and improved access to the top of the hill. Andreas Mikkelson is a Skoda UK Motorsport driver and will be attending the Festival during all three days of action. Andreas will drive the team's 2011 Skoda Fabia.
